Kitchen Refurbishment Brunswick

Client Goals

As well as needing an aesthetic update, Athina’s kitchen needed to be more functional.  Key elements included more storage and easier access to tableware, cookware and various ingredients, as well as a longer bench and a way to hide the sink.

What We Delivered

Aesthetically we agreed that a traditional French Country kitchen with a neutral colour palette would be an improved style update that had longevity. The design process included a comprehensive brief to get to the heart of how Athina cooks and uses the kitchen and adjacent living and dining areas.  So we quickly saw opportunities to incorporate a longer bench with an overhang to comfortably seat 3 people.  We used the space in the front of the sink for much needed storage and replaced cupboards with draws, including a spice and wine rack.  We also moved the microwave off the bench to create even more bench space.  Overall we created a much more user friendly, functional and beautiful space highlighted by stunning modern pendant lighting.

‘I’m very glad I decided to go ahead and update my kitchen.  I now have a modern new French Country style kitchen with lots of great features, including more storage space.  I love everything about my new kitchen and lighting because it gives me easy access to everything I need when I’m cooking.   Especially the longer bench which comfortably seats three people and the wine rack, which means everything we need is easy to access to enjoy meals together.  Trish was amazing and very professional from the start of this project. Discussing every detail of the design with the cabinet maker.  Trish also re-configured the lighting plan for the kitchen/living area and chose great feature lights as well as practical LED down lights with dimmers.  Overall I’m very happy with what Trish designed and how she managed the project and I highly recommend Grace Interior Designs.’ Athina K
