Six Questions
An interior design project can be exciting, stressful and expensive, so I think it’s very important to take time before you start to ask yourself some key questions.
When I meet clients for the first time my brief of questions is usually 4 pages long, and is very thorough. It can take between 2-3 hours to go through this with a client and some more time for the client to consider their answers before I get started on developing a concept.
However, to get you thinking here are our top 6 questions you need to ask yourself BEFORE you start any interior design project;
» The end result – what look/feel/style do you want to achieve? What are the goals you have for your space?
» How is the space currently used? Who uses the space? How often? What times?
» Are there any functional problems with the space? What is the purpose of the space? Why are you redesigning/restyling the space?
» What type of natural light does the space get?
» What colours do you like?
» What’s your budget? Include some money for contingencies.
