Client Goals
My client wanted a ‘grown up’, ‘sophisticated’ space. She had collected a range of objects, art and pieces of furniture over the years, which she loved, but wanted a space that was more cohesive, that communicated her life story and personality through her collections in a refined, purposeful way. After completing the brief we decided the Style Goal was Eclectic Mid Century Modern, with a vibrant colour scheme including the accent colours of orange and pink.
What We Delivered
With this project we had a good base to start with as the client wanted to keep the sofa, a slim line, grey piece that had Mid Century Modern vibes, with such a solid base, we specified a truly dynamic rug that lifts the space with its pattern and pink and orange colour scheme. To add a bit of glamour and sophistication, the next step was to install the glass top coffee tables with a luxe gold base, these elongated slim line legs working in harmony with the slim line of the sofa and the glass top ensured the beautiful rug was visible from all angles. We found a beautiful range of storage pieces that worked well due to their angular lines and brass finish. The finishing touches were then installed such as the grey ottomans and cushions and we used a range of the client’s existing objects for the coffee table and shelving and art for the walls to complete the space.
The client was really keen to keep 2 tub chairs that we paired with an ‘old school’ style highboard for her records and record player, together this mix of old pieces with new, work really well without compromising the nostalgic comfort factor.
Testimonial
I recently worked with Trish to restyle my home and am delighted with the results. I discovered her online and felt inspired by the reviews and ‘before and after’ photos of her work. I was not disappointed! She was encouraging, respectful and supportive in helping me identify my vision and didn’t attempt to just impose her own views. From the initial appointment and right through the process, she gracefully incorporated my interests, passions and ideas with her design expertise and kept me ‘on track’ with the big picture. My house looks beautiful, but feels like ‘me’. I’m so glad I decided to meet with her to see if there was a connection and I thoroughly recommend her! Thanks Trish.
